Mom's Teriyaki
About This Spot
Mom’s Teriyaki is the kind of place that wraps you in warmth the moment you step inside. Tucked on a quiet stretch of Auburn’s East Main Street, its unassuming facade belies a space where the pace slows just enough to savor both food and company. The atmosphere feels grounded and welcoming—one part neighborhood staple, one part cozy gathering spot where familiar faces return and newcomers are quickly made to feel like part of the fold.
There’s a comforting rhythm in the way orders are called out, the subtle clatter of plates, and soft, attentive conversations between staff and guests. It’s a family-owned restaurant that clearly carries generations of care in its beat—nothing rushed, everything thoughtful. The rooms carry a subtle hum of home, where the clove of ginger and sweet soy waft invitingly from the kitchen, signaling moments to pause and indulge.
The experience here isn’t about chasing flash or trends, but rather about settling into the familiar joys of hearty, thoughtfully prepared dishes. From the gentle char of grilled chicken glazed in teriyaki to the delicate crispness of spring rolls, each meal feels like a quiet celebration of bold, comforting flavors. The generous portions and unpretentious presentation echo the kind of hospitality you might find around a family table—ample enough to share, with enough variety to suit every appetite.
In many ways, Mom’s Teriyaki lives in that sweet space where every visit feels like a return home. The constant presence of the same friendly faces behind the counter, paired with the unwavering quality of the food, creates a trust that’s rare and quietly reassuring. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick solo bite or gathering friends for a shared feast, the mood here encourages lingering conversations and moments of genuine connection.

I have been here four times now. Enough to provide a reliable review. The owners are super kind and the food is great and presented perfectly. I highly recommend Mom's for teriyaki. SO GOOD!

This small family owned business treats you like family in the best way. Potions are meal sized, and a good value for your money. Always friendly service.

I haven’t been here since probably 2 years and I went yesterday and got a ‘moms plate’ which is essentially a family meal and I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of goodies you get with it for only 50$ (3 large plates of entrees with fried rice and lots of side dishes&soup) it’s supposed to feed 4 but it definitely can feed more than that. And my favorite sweet and sour chicken has gotten much better since the last time I’ve gone, they must’ve started using better chicken as it was a lot fresher and not dry. Owners are extremely kind and I’m always greeted with a big smile, certified auburn classic and I’ll be coming back more often!!

Anyone rating this place less than 5 stars has some serious mental condition. I’ve eaten here hundreds of times. I used to work next door and I’d eat here almost every day. THE BEST teriyaki you will ever find. I moved out of state and this place is one of the things I miss most about Washington.

It was neither great nor bad, pretty typical teriyaki chicken. It was good, I'd buy it again, but would try other places first.
